Over the 2011 Homecoming Weekend the Class of 1951 gathered at the Century House in Acushnet on two occasions. On Friday, June 24th the classmates enjoyed an evening dinner at the Century House while they reminisced, shared memories and renewed friendships. On Sunday morning, June 26th they returned to the Century House for a delicious breakfast buffet.
Read more >>On Homecoming Weekend June 24-26, 2011 the FHS Class of 1961 partied non-stop celebrating at their 50th year reunion. They hosted the All-Class Breakfast Buffet on Sunday morning which had over 200 attendees.
Read more >>The Classes of 1966 and 1967 joined together on Saturday evening, June 25, 2011 during Homecoming Weekend to celebrate their 45 and 44 year reunions respectively at the Wamsutta Club in New Bedford. Utilizing a tropical theme the FHS alums and friends danced the night away to the Baha Brothers, Jimmy Buffet style band who have opened for Jimmy Buffet and play at his Margueritaville Club in Key West, Florida. Pictured are the 45 members of the Class of 1966 who were present.
Read more >>On Sunday morning June 26, 2011 the Class of 1966 unveiled the 7th stained glass window to be donated to FHS and hung in the Rotunda between the 1906 building and the 1999 addition building. Created by Artist Susan Berberian ‘73, the newest window is centered around the theme of the friendship that grew between Fairhaven Ship Captain Whitfield and John Manjiro, a young Japanese seaman who he rescued at sea and brought back to Fairhaven to live with him.
