The annual Greater New Bedford Reunion will be held at the Shell Factory on Route 41 in Fort Myers, Florida on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. Organized by former New Bedford Mayor Brian Lawler and his wife Johann, the event always attracts a large number of Fairhaven graduates and former teachers and coaches. Pictured are former coaches Wayne Wilson, Dick Arieta and Mike Dodge with Claude Sniezek ‘65 at the 2010 gathering.
First time attendees are always amazed at the number of people that they know who are in attendance. Former Foreign Language Dept. Chair and teacher Donald J.B. Dufour, who lives in Fort Myers, has informed us that he plans to be there this year, and he loves to chat with his former colleagues and students. The Shell Factory is a large facility that is easy to find on Route 41 and there is no admission charge. There is a cash bar inside and outside with a great deal of reminiscing by old friends from the Greater New Bedford area. If you are coming from a distance and want to make it a 2 or 3 day trip, the Boston Red Sox are playing the Baltimore Orioles in Fort Myers on Monday, March 7th at 1:00 P.M. and Wednesday, March 9th at 7:00 PM.
