FHS HALL OF FAME SEEKS NOMINATIONS

The Hall of Fame Board of Directors requests the assistance of our community and our Fairhaven High School alumni to identify outstanding men and women for possible induction into the Fairhaven High School Hall of Fame at the annual ceremony in June. Pictured is the 1963 Track Team which was honored at the 2009 Hall of Fame Banquet.

The completed nomination form and supporting materials can be submitted to Scott Francis, the Athletic Director at Fairhaven High School.

The Fairhaven High School Hall of Fame annually recognizes and honors Fairhaven High School alumni who were outstanding athletes or have attained significant achievement during their lifetime.  Additionally, the Hall of Fame serves to recognize coaches, faculty and administrators who have given of themselves with distinction to the Fairhaven High School community.

To be eligible for consideration an athlete must have competed at the varsity level and graduated from Fairhaven High School.  Athletes are not eligible until 10 years after they have graduated.

Athletes who have been inducted include Bart Leach ’51, Tom Mendell ’60 and Julie Isaksen ’89, to name but three outstanding representatives.

The Lifetime Achiever’s category honors an alumnus who has gone on to achieve some “greatness” and thereby has brought honor and fame to Fairhaven High School and the education they received there.  Lifetime Achievers are not eligible until 10 years after they have graduated.

Those inducted as Lifetime Achievers include Brigadier General John B. Hall ‘62, the “Voice of the New England Patriots” Gil Santos ’56, and Dr. Lee Staples ’63.

Coaches eligible for induction must have coached at Fairhaven High School for a minimum of 5 years and created a quality environment for their student athletes.  Coaches are not eligible until 5 years after leaving the coaching ranks of Fairhaven High School. 

Coaches inducted include one of Fairhaven’s great icons Mr. Mel Entin, long-time basketball and baseball coach Mr. Wayne Wilson and high school Super Bowl Champion football Coach Mr. Dana Almeida ’72.

Fairhaven Alumni have gone on to great achievements in their lifetimes and serve as role models for future generations.  Help us continue celebrating and honoring this legacy by nominating someone you think worthy of such distinction.
