Class of 1966 Unveils Stained Glass Window

On Sunday morning June 26, 2011 the Class of 1966 unveiled the 7th stained glass window to be donated to FHS and hung in the Rotunda between the 1906 building and the 1999 addition building.  Created by Artist Susan Berberian ‘73, the newest window is centered around the theme of the friendship that grew between Fairhaven Ship Captain Whitfield and John Manjiro, a young Japanese seaman who he rescued at sea and brought back to Fairhaven to live with him.

Each of the seven stained glass windows are unique and express a theme that is intended as a message to the current students of Fairhaven High School.  Next year, during the Bicentennial celebration of the Town of Fairhaven, two classes will be unveiling stained glass windows on the Sunday morning of Homecoming Weekend, following the All-Class Breakfast Buffet at FHS.  The Classes of 1950 and 1957 are working with Sue Berberian now to created two more unique windows.  If your class is interested in exploring the possibility of donating a stained glass window to FHS, please go to the “Class Gifts” link on our home page to view how the process works.
